Art Project

I think that correlating art and math together in a lesson makes math seem less intimidating.  Art adds a sense of relaxation, which can motivate students to be excited and involved in solving math problems.

Problem Solving

Problem solving is difficult in itself, but when you add a partner, it is so much more challenging.  Although its challenging, this activity helps students work on many skills other than solving the math problem.  It pushes students to be a team player, be a good listener, and be open to new ideas.  In all this will benefit students to enhance their math skills and problem solving ability.

Making Math Personal

Math is a very intimating subject for many students and people in general.  As a teacher, you must make it personal so students can relate to the problems and have an interest in the material.  If students are engaged with something that interests them, it is more likely that they will try and work more diligently to comprehend and finish was is put in front of them!
